Xbox One X – Welche Verbesserung erwarten welche Spiele?

Microsoft hat bereits eine Liste mit den Spielen veröffentlicht, die bisher für die Xbox One X verbessert werden, oder zum Start direkt dafür ausgelegt sind.

Welche Verbesserungen gibt es aber und welches Spiel erhält was genau? Nicht jeder Titel wird tatsächlich 4K-Texturen erhalten oder mit HDR ausgestattet werden. Letzteres ist vor allem deshalb der Fall, weil viele Spiele, wie beispielsweise Halo 5, gar nicht mit dem Konzept von HDR im Hinterkopf entwickelt wurden.

Das führt letztlich dazu, dass HDR eher nachteilig für ein Spiel sein könnte. Gleiches gilt für 4K-Texturen. Zwar ist es mit der Zeit so, dass viele Texturen ohne Probleme hochskaliert werden können, allerdings nicht jedes Spiel hat „echte“ 4K-Texturen im Portfolio. Andere Titel wiederrum sind so aufwendig und schön zur gleichen Zeit das echtes 4K auf den Konsolen auch mit der Power der Xbox One X nicht einfach zu erreichen ist.

Hier greift das sogenannte Checkerbord-Rendering. Um diese Technik zu vereinfachen versuchen wir es wie folgt zu erklären: das Bild wird bei dieser Technik in viele kleine Kästchen aufgeteilt, ähnlich wie ein Schachbrett. Jedes Bild wird dann für sich selbst gerendert, um die gezielte Auflösung zu erreichen. Eine Praktik die bereits seit längerer Zeit angewendet wird, technisch aber nicht als echtes 4K bezeichnet werden kann.

Die nachfolgende Liste enthält alle bisher bekannten Titel, die optimiert werden. Leider ist aber noch nicht bei jedem Spiel klar, welche Veränderung / Verbesserung uns erwarten wird.
